Mark is a media and Internet specialist with over 25 years’ experience in Internet-focused ventures. He has been consulting in the computer industry since 1983, originally as part of his Chartered Accounting practice, and later he built a successful computer training company, wrote and published 300 computer books, and co-founded a software training CD-ROM company that he took public.
In 1995, Mark launched and funded one of the first community portal sites in Canada. He has since designed, developed, and managed web sites for over a hundred clients, and in 1999 launched the FoundLocally.com website (which has grown from one city to 30 communities since launch).
Mark graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Ottawa’s Carleton University (1980). He has been both a judge and a presenter at the Canadian New Media Awards, and Judging Co-chair of the “Media Fresh” Awards sponsored by Digital Alberta. Mark is also a judge in the international Internet Advertising Competition from 2007 through 2010. He was Judging Co-Chair of the 2010 Media Fresh Awards (Alberta).
