Dean's long-stranding, keen interest in fostering entrepreneurship and assisting early- and growth-stage companies enables him to effectively advise clients in his role as Managing Director of Canadian Ventures Inc. His areas of expertise, gained through 25 years of consulting, include completing numerous feasibility studies, business plans, due diligence reports, business pricing analyses, and particularly financings, mergers, acquisitions and other transactions. Business owners, directors and investors appreciate and depend upon Dean's comprehensive skills and knowledge base as he helps them to research, strategize, formulate and implement business and corporate level initiatives.
Dean has successfully advised over 200 privately-held companies and dozens of TSX-V corporations across Canada in a senior business advisory, corporate finance, and strategic transaction role. He has conducted and participated in an impressive number of complex research, valuation, planning, structuring, financings, transactions, and other business assignments. As well, he has capably created and implemented a variety of disclosure documents and professional campaigns to source, negotiate and close financings, joint ventures, strategic transactions, and other corporate-level strategic initiatives.
Prior to founding Canadian Ventures Inc., he managed consulting services for a mid-market mergers and acquisitions firm, and before that, he managed the Calgary regional office of a boutique investment bank. Previous to this position, he was an independent management consultant, servicing clients in Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia. At the start of his professional career, he managed a regional office in Ottawa, Ontario for an international engineering and environmental firm.
Dean obtained his Bachelor of Science (Honors, 1986) from the University of Alberta and a Masters of Business Administration degree from the University of Calgary (1997).
